Objetives:
Our client, an iron, steel and metal foundry, requests our collaboration in the migration of a PILZ HMI panel to a platform (TIA) and Siemens panels.
The milestone of this project is the lack of PILZ Panel sources combined with the lack of many comments in the PLC program, which are in German.
The client provides screenshots of the PILZ control screens and asks us to program them on the SIEMENS platform, maintaining the functionality of the installation, even improving the capabilities of the current recipes.
Used tools:
Siemens: TIA portal 17 for the panel and Step 7 for the PLC 300. Communication channel, MPI.
Process:
It has been necessary to collect and analyse the data from the PLC program, knowing which variables the PILZ uses (not having its source program), and thus be able to carry out the same operation in the Siemens.
One of the milestones of this project has been implementing it on a machine that has been installed and in operation for many years, all without production stops (Project in progress for more than 25 years).
From having 5 working recipes, you now have an unlimited number of recipes, customized to each of the pieces to be produced. In addition, the visualization of the installation is organized, making it much more intuitive and easier to handle.
Our collaboration:
All the engineering and set-up of the project, turnkey and in less than 1 month from its start. Without production stops.
Retrofit with INISA, and to work.
